Wanted: Horseradish root cutting
« on: November 25, 2013, 09:24:47 pm »
We'd like to grow horseradish next year, does anyone have an established plant they could sell or give us a root cutting from please? Happy to exchange for comfrey root cuttings or seeds, or to pay postage.

Ta,

We have Dan. Would need some advice on how to go about posting such an item though. Would it need protecting in any way? Not fussed about exchanging for owt. Will look into how to take a cutting and come back to you.

We have some too, if anyone else wants some.  It grows like a weed round our smallholding!

I would think getting one of the Jiffy bags with bubblewrap inside as they tend to be a bit waterproof.  Wrap the root in some damp newspaper and it should be fine to post.

Thanks both, have sent a PM.

Yes, either a jiffy bag or a food bag inside a normal envelope will be fine, so long as there's a bit of moisture.
