Sneaky Hay Feeding

Have found if I put their haylage on a pile of nettles the sheep unwittingly eat the nettles too. Result  :thumbsup:

We just found the same lol
1 cat,2 thoroughbred horses,1 dog, handfull of bird various types and hoping to get sheep again

yep it does we are cutting them down and feeding to turkeys to.
1 cat,2 thoroughbred horses,1 dog, handfull of bird various types and hoping to get sheep again

we put out a bit and see how much they eat of it before giving more or less normall have it that they have a small armfull of hay left which our male goat munches up everynight

Except that at this time of year the nettles are full of seeds, and these will probably be deposited all over your field, well covered in their own little balls of manure...

I have always (when I can be bothered) strimmed nettles - the sheep eat them once they have wilted and they have good mineral levels...
