« on: October 04, 2013, 02:49:15 pm »
Having raised many types of meat birds including worked for Ross poultry over the years i have yet to try this one, anyone raised any ? Pros and cons.

I have some coming not many as a trial really and go from there. I was after a few Hubbards but could find any locally. Any input would be good.

Have grown 708s both free range and indoor, they were never great rangers prefered to stay in the house , they grow very quickly and achieve very good weights, biggest problem was keeping them on there feet tended to go off there legs easily,we did manage to rectify this with another batch by dropping the protein levels in the feed after 8 weeks and feeding plenty  of greens and forage which they liked, should be ideal if you want some bigger birds for xmas .

Thanks for your comment   i tend to keep there feed mostly grain anyway so protein levels will be slightly lower and they will be on grass. I have tried the 308's in the past and they were far too fast growing for my liking.
