All you doggie owners, I have asked this question so many times but still find it hard to get rid of the smell of dog wee on the yard, although its not been bad as I now let them use the rest of the garden but the added problem is we have no outside tap so I have to carry buckets of water and the resulting wee wee water goes under our gate and down a shared entry so I have to work very quickly to re direct it down our drain...so what do other people use?  I know a power washer would be great but in this house we have not got one, the next house has . I have some success with bleach and jeyes fluid...so tips please

Bleach strengthens the 'aroma' of urine.
Biological washing liquid or powder neutralises the glorious scent  . But it must be BIOLOGICAL. Non bio doesn't work. Rinse thecyard to dilute the urine then chuck bucketfulls of dilute bio. And brush in well then leave it for an hour ( remember to exclude the dogs from the area or they could get chemical burns on their tippy toes )
Then rinse.

As a more topical and less chemical solution, you could try sprinkling bicarb soda direct on the urine patches, then spraying with white vinegar (careful, it will foam!). Leave for a while, then rinse with water. (if you are worried about the vinegar smell, it dissipates very quickly, especially if you use white (spirit) vinegar.

  , I have a lot of bicarb as its good for any wet patches on carpet or beds in our B&B, although not had a wet bed for a long long time......I think I will give it a try as Jeyes makes it smell like a public toilet

.and I will try the Bio washing powder although  with the pups around and no outside tap I am not so sure I have the energy to carry such large quantities. The first thing I noticed about the house we are moving to is, it has a huge hose connected to an outside tap

You use bicarb for wet patches? Does it draw out the moisture?
Great to know that, yet another use for bicarb!

Yes, sprinkle it on then Hoover it up when it's absorbed to wet...I add baby talc on beds as it smells nice

we once bought a house and the floor boards in one of the bedrooms was soaked in something unpleasant, we think resulting from their dog been shut in the room while they moved.

We tried everything including Jeyes and eventually we were directed to the cats protection trust who agreed with Mammyshaz, Biological washing powder, which was the only thing that worked.

Not easy though if you have to carry buckets, we have only used it as an indoor solution with the Vax. Hopefully you are moving soon so its only a short term problem.

Orinoco, we had a green rug that a small dog we had used to do small wee's on that you could not see but could smell, I bought every product under the sun and they all made it smell worse, when we moved I rolled up the large rug and when it was  unrolled the Ammonia smell could have removed nail polish in a jiff...had to be thrown away.........

Best way is to rinse the wee as soon as it's been done.     So when you move you can use your hosepipe.

I would be watching all day to catch 8 pups and 3 adults wee....... ..........we cleaned the yard tonight and its OK......I wish I had put an outside tap in when we moved here as shifting loads of buckets is  hard going and I get wet, we used to attach the hose to the garage taps but they broke under the strain.........poo is fine as I can easily clear that up!

It's an bacteriostatic scrub. Does little  for the  smell of urine.

No good then, we do not need to eat off the floor in the yard but do need to curb the Ammonia smell, it seeps into the bedroom vent as the dogs wee just outside where the vent is, we do sleep downstairs by the way....I thought it was my lovely husband smelling of wee and I bet he thought it was me
