Well I went down and clear as day I knew it was fly strike lay down on his side so clipped him all over 4 spots! He didn't have a thing 3 days ago cause I was brushing him and feeding him biscuits! It's still a problem :-( I hate flystrike....crovat and click this year....and still got it. And it's not cheap

Blimey, thought we were clear of that particular nightmare. I'll have to be watchful again with mine. Some squitty bums from lush grass at the mo.

Sorry to hear that. Seems even when you do everything right you can still get breakdowns....and as you say, the stuff ain't cheap.

One of mines just been struck between the shoulders. I've clipped him right back, think it was caught early. DIdn't expect that near the end of September either!

Depending on where you live in the country, you should be still looking out for signs of flystrike up until November as the months of activity seem to have increased over the years and it is not uncommon to see flystrike from March through to November - not good news

Another one tonight a late born lamb which has been treated with click and crovat also I find this so irritating as its the most expensive part off sheep keeping tbh.....

Sept/Oct are often the worst months of the year for blowflys, the fleeces are getting thicker the weather is  muggy  grass is growing but very wet and treatments are nearing the end of their cover . Have not seen or had any fly problems until this month, treated 4 rams for headfly and two ewes for foot strike

Ram lambs will be particulary susepable as their fleece will be getting quite dense now and they will be mounting each other like loons.

iv just had a ewe lamb with a thicker coat get two tiny spots, luckily no broken skin and tiny maggots so treated..she was only cliked about 6 weeks ago as only brought her in then and I did them as wasn't sure if lady had really done them.her two spots were right on the line along back that some of the clik is applied on to.

Saw one of my hoggets acting strange so brought them all in, sure enough she was struck an area about 12 inches diameter  . Clipped the fleece off in the affected area and checked all the others, none were affected so Crovected them all.  Think that we've had a late resurgence of insects due to a prolonged cold snap early on and now a bit of a warm spell!
