I have 2 saddlebacks that are about 24 weeks old, at what age should they go to slaughter? & what is a good live weight roughly when they go?

If you can get them to 160lbs live weight at 26 weeks and they are not too fat, you've cracked it!

Most outdoor reared pigs should be around 65 - 70kg (or even heavier) by 26weeks, which is a good weight and age to take to slaughter for pork - if you want bacon I would aim for around 90kg, but be careful the pigs don't just gain weight by putting on fat...hope this helps

Of course once they are in the freezer you will wish they had been bigger, as somehow there never seems to be quite enough pork.  Or perhaps thats just porcoholic me :pig:
