Migraines

Hi guys, apologies for not posting anything in ages.  Ive been suffering with quite bad migraines and although I kept up with what was going on I have not had any energy in me to type!  But there seems to be a break in the horizon so hopefully I will be migraine free for another while  :)

Also, everyone in work has had their days cut and one made redundant so the atmosphere is not good at all.  The poor woman made redundant (is a widow ) who will have to try to find €800.00 a month for mortgage repayments as she has no mortgage protection.  She has two sons & one daughter in their 30s who couldn't give a crap, the poor woman does everthing for them and they all of a sudden cant do anything for her so I really feel for her and for some reason I feel guilty.  But as our vet says and my OH agrees - "I cant save the world" so I will have to stop stressing about this for the moment.  She leaves today 2 weeks, not looking forward to the day she goes  :(

I think if we get any more rain I will have to ask Joe, Julie & Tara if they have room for a few more!  After seeing photos of their house (which is quite impressive!) I'll try any excuse to call up there!!

PS - hope Joe's back is okay again  :)

Hey Kerrygirl,

Big sympathies with u.  I too suffer migraines, so horrid  :( Do u get the spots and sickness? My husband usually gets those in the middle of the night.  I don't get sick thank god but have to lie in a dark room and try and sleep it off for hours.  I get another kind too that last for 2-3 weeks, had one all this week.  Oh well.

Glad to hear you are seeing a light at the end tho!  :)

Hope work gets easier, so horrid to go through the redundancy process, the morale just hits rock bottom.  I hope your frind finds something else soon.

Bye for now.  :)

Hiya Kerrygirl

Youre welcome here anytime - we even have a little caravan for guests to stay in too!  It has one big bed that you could get a couple of adults and one or two kids in. (Family?)

Take off friday in two weeks - and come up here for a long weekend - then you don't have to get upset about your work colleague (you are just like me trying to save everyone from harm!)
and we can have a chat and a few glasses of pop!

Things could be worse:
Tomorrow of all days, the day my daughter comes back from England and my old friend comes over for a weeks holiday with her daughter and two grandsons - their first time in Ireland...

The bl**dy digger driver who is not two weeks overdue really huh ??? ::) >:( is arriving to move rocks from the back of our cabin, take the ditch away, and then relocate our 20x8x8 steel container from off our drive by taking it over the stream, up the hill, into our neighbours land, and lift it into position onver our fence!!!!!!!!!(it is obstructing the nice view on our drive, and taking up three potential parking spaces for our farm shop customers) to behind the new cabin to become our new log store and pump house.

So my nice driveway, lawned at both sides, loose gravelled road, and field could be totally destroyed and covered in mud because of the continual downpour :'( :'(

We also have a farmers market in Boyle to be at, and to collect our five arrivals from the Train Station and have a nice welcome meal ready for them, plus warm nice beds and space, and have the place looking clean and tidy, and the farm shop is open, supposedly, and Joe's back is still trouble and he is not allowed to stand up for long periods and cannot drive.

Its all going to be fine, everything will be fine, all will happen, all will be done, but watch out just incase the digger slides in the rain and the steel container ends up in Kerry ;D ;D ;D

At least next week I only have three kids (4 including Joe) to worry about, and two lovely ladies to help and have fun with - lots organised for a fun week, so nothing ""NOTHING YOU HEAR""
( just letting those in charge know - whoever and wherever they are), will stop me getting there ::)

Love it that you're back - I get migranes too - but have a sinus problem that usually starts them off, so lots of tea and sympathy from mee too

got to go, Joe thinks I'm working  ;D

Hi Kerrygirl,

Sorry to hear you have been unwell...suggest you try a spoonful of LOCAL honey every day...works wonders! Also the problem could be stress related...I used to suffer regularly until I retired to my present life, but even though I probably work harder and longer hours than ever before I haven't had a really bad migraine in almost five years.

In my former life I was often called upon to dismiss staff for my clients...I never minded sacking someone who wasn't good at their job or who had committed a misdemeanor of some sort...but I absolutely hated making people redundant...they had done nothing wrong! That's when I knew I would get a migraine!

Hope you feel better soon and that your friend finds another job before too long

Thanks so much for your lovely posts guys, I knew I could turn to here to get a pick me up  :)

Julie, thank you for the lovely invitation but I feel I should be here for Anne when she goes, the poor thing will be heading home to a big empty house so we have organised that we take her out for a bite to eat after work to say our proper goodbyes - but hold that though though and we can organise another time?  I can also offer an invitation to ye to come stay with us too.  Might wait until the weather clears up (if ever!!).  - Still no eggs yet but cockrel starting to crow in the morning so maybe thats a sign that they are only comming of age now?  Will have to get you to give them a pep talk if ye make it down here!

I hope things work out with the digger work, but if you do just want to send on the container anyway via mud slide I can then really get things going with my food storage (& rotation)!!

Will certainly have to try and source local honey, I have it in my porridge every morning.  Would be great if it worked.  Get all the horrible symptoms from the migraines and am left exhausted after it all but when I look at Ann from work I feel I should not complain.

Hi Kerrygirl,
Welcome to the club of migraine sufferers. I inherited the monthly pleasure from my mother, I do so hope that I didn't pass it on to my daughters. I had to cut out red wine, which brought it on almost every time (now I have white or rose, cider is fine, too  ;). Sometimes it's chilli, sometimes the weather, sometimes after (!) a stressful time, mostly just that time of the month. It does seem to get better with age  ::), so there is hope for all you young girls who suffer from it! At least no more sitting in a soundproof room with eyepads and a cold pack at my age...
I'm also waiting for the first eggs of my new ducks, the boy(s) were having a go at them for over a week now, can't be a long wait from now! Hope you'll share the moment with us, when you get your first egg!  :&>
