Anyone tried a Garden Life poultry run?
« on: August 01, 2013, 04:16:33 pm »
Saw an ad for these and might have a use for one but I'm concerned about what happens in heavy snow. If it fell gently enough it could rapidly fill up the holes in the wire mesh and the weight collapse the frame. Anyone had any experience with one of these?

I looked into these last year-can't remember what site but I found alot of bad reviews, they are apparently very flimsy.

I had a nervous couple of days this winter-one of my pens is made out of panels and topped with bird netting, soft heavy snow fell overnight-about 18inches! roof didn't cave in but then it had some stretch in it.

I have one, complete waste of money. Search for collapsed chicken run on forum and you will read what I and others went through!

Absolute hell to assemble and it all collapsed with weight of snow. We were able to reassemble, it is much stronger as smaller and less joins but a third of the size.

Ah, thanks for that.  Think I'll stick with Agrigame's game panels and take off the game netting we sling across the top if snow's forecast.
