E mail help please
« on: July 23, 2013, 12:53:38 pm »
Two unknown messages in in box this morning - same woman as before, so did not read, and deleted them.
No new emails which is strange as usually enquiries for carriage weddings.  Sent an email to our account, and it bounced back as not deliverable to that account as it was no longer valid.  I can get on the emails and read the old ones.
Desperately need my email system working.  Have tried myself, but when I went into the programmes, there is no email in the drop down box listed at all?  Help!!
My phone has locked up now as well, and that had emails on it - has it been hacked or something again?  I have disabled the email address from my phone now.
How do I restore my email address again - although on the mail account itself its actually there, so may not let me restore it as such?

Dan will be able to help, but it sounds like your email account has been hacked and they have sent out the maximum number of emails for the day.  Should be OK tomorrow.  How often do you change your password?  Is it a Hotmail or Yahoo account - they are prone to hacking.  Or Livemail too..

I change my passwords at least every three months,. and I had to completely delete my Hotmail account and livemail account some years ago because of continual hacking.

...or it might just mean that your isp or email server is out.  Try again later.

If it's an email account linked to your ISP account (e.g. address@btinternet.com) then contact the ISP's support directly by telephone.

If it's a free email provider (Yahoo, GMail, etc) take a look at their support pages, they will have processes for reporting and recovering from account hacking.

If it's an email account provided by a web host and tied to a domain (e.g. your @festivalcarriages.co.uk account) check the host's status page. I can see that address is hosted by 123-reg and there's nothing on their site about outages.

Agree with Greenerlife - with electrical storms across the UK this morning there could be local network issues (our broadband kept dropping out every 15 minutes or so), so try again, or get someone else to try (PM me the email address and I'll try).

Thank you for your replies.
Doganjo kindly sent me an email to see if it got through  - other people had done this, and had their mail returned.  For some reason, Annie's email reached me :)   so at least I know its working now.  I have removed my email from my phone, because this happened a while back.  Its wrecked my phone, as well as my emails.  An inconvenience, but would rather do without emails on my phone than no emails at all!!
