BT fixed it for me?????
« on: July 22, 2013, 12:52:38 pm »
Well maybe they have or maybe they haven't?

After 7 weeks,  several hours on phone to India, ( where I played technician to indian instructions) and 4 visits by different technicians maybe today we finally cracked the problem with my broadband!    :fc:  :fc:  :fc:

First tech checked all wires up road and found a fault, also fitted new box in house as the one we had predated the age of the technician!  (This is fitted at the back of our fitted wardrobe so router sits in the wardrobe!! . bit like having ET looking out!!!) .. don't ask why we just bought the place!)

second tech  fitted  new box to new box ... supposed to separate BB from phone (no need for those little white plug ins every where).... so why when he left could  i reboot router by dialling out on phone????

third tech  (after having new router sent out)  also went for a fault outside on post ........  after he left the problem was far worse!!

.... what did he find today?  the wire from where it comes into house to where they fitted a new first box (on first visit)  had a fault!

result .... brand new wire and box downstairs... router now let out of cupboard to sit in windowsill downstairs and 6 Mg input to router (been running at less than 1 for past 7 weeks when it worked at all) ......... just hoping that the final comment from tech 4 that he will reboot from his end which will get wireless working at speed too is honoured

and all on my  6 month wedding anniversay  :excited:

:fc:  Hope they did explain that it does take a while to pick up, we had a similar problem only to find our Labrador had been pulling the cable to get our attention in the morning :innocent:
I find talking to companies such as BT, it like using the correct password to get into a seedy club......

Six months already? That's amazing. And you're still talking.  ;D

Hope your BB is now sorted and the next six months (and all the six monthses after that) are even better than the last.
