RosieB might still reply, it was very hard for her to give up her two girls  :dog: :dog: its possible she might need a few days to think through re her young lad.  :dog: Not sure how trained he will be as pretty young, but if anything like his sister and mum who have come to us, he will have a lovely loving nature

It may be a big journey but 26th July there is a sheepdog sale at Skipton (google CCM auction)  its the biggest sheepdog sale in the country I think.  Maybe not the best place to buy but if you are stuck...

thanks for that..think we need to go on recommendation as what we need is quite specific, it's not a trial dog we need it's more of a hill dog/pet.  i don't know..i just want the one we had cos he fitted the bill and was only young, my daughter adored him and he was loyal.  :'(

I am very sorry to hear about your dog  :-[

Are you after a fully trained working dog, or a young dog?  We currently have a young dog (approx 18 months) who is running at hand, is easily handled and should make a good every day work dog.  He has a wonderful nature with children (I have a 5 year old son) and other dogs (we have a number of working sheepdogs as well as GSDs).

Here is a short video

So sorry to hear about your Merle boy  :(

Have you tried Border Collie Rescue UK. I'm pretty sure they assess the dogs that come in with sheep and those that want/need to work are rehomed to working homes.
