Phew! What a lot of beef!

We butchered the first of our cows at the weekend.  She had been hung for 28 days and was delivered back to us on Friday.  The boys started cutting it into managable lumps that evening and then worked almost non-stop (except for the odd beer) from 8.30am till about 5pm on the Saturday.  It was tiring work but the flavour of our very own beef that night on the BBQ made it all worthwhile!

How many kgs of usable meat did you get back and what breed was the cow.
