My sponges are usually not very good because I don't cream the butter and sugar long enough. They've got better now I use the Kenwood and go and do something else while the machine does the work
Agreed. How does anyone manage without a Kenwood?
My brother says you could build a house from some of the cakes my mum makes now!
My mum used to make Victoria sponges with a leathery texture round the edges which my brothers and I loved them. Then someone taught her how to make a 'proper' sponge using a Kenwood and we never had a decent leather cake again.
