Coloured Ryeland Shearlings wanted
« on: June 19, 2013, 03:47:46 pm »
I am looking for 2 coloured ryeland shearlings, registered and good quality, ready for tupping this autumn.

Will travel from East Sussex to Devon/Hereford/Wales and around that area.

Many thanks.

Can I ask - have you got 2 rams? 1 white and 1 coloured or how do you cope with the two different colours?  Does the Ryeland breed society frown if you put white ram with coloured etc?

Maddy, I do have a coloured and a white ram but these are lambs born this year which will need to find new homes  :(
The society definitely does frown upon breeding white with coloured and vice versa.
I was fortunate enough to be able to take my girls back to their original owner for a tupping holiday. She has a much larger flock and is able to keep white and coloured rams so mine were split into the appropriate groups at her end.

Hi Maddy,
Have you tried the Shadowland Flock, They are based in Essex, they might have something. Just Google them.
I haven't got anything only ewe lambs and they are not ready to leave mum yet.

There is always the show & sale in Ludlow Livestock Market Sat 24th August, that would be within your travelling distance and would have some choice.
