Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

Pups now 3 weeks old.

1 week later and the pups now at 4 weeks old today and are in the stables and mummy has had enough and never goes near them.

I have them on Lactol puppy milk and it's very expencive £12 85, 1 kg. They are on 4 feeds a day and growing fast and going through over 1 kg a week.

Is there any quality  feed , besides puppy kibbles (Burns) in the way of milk that will work out cheaper?

They are beautiful!  I don't think you can skimp on milk/food in these early stages - its so vital.  I'd be tempted to give them little minced chicken which may be easier to eat than kibble.

Is goats milk a suitable alternative for the breed/age?  I know its slightly different but our pup (now 11 months) has fresh milk from the goat once a day (he is older though obviously!)

They should only be getting milk as one of their five daily feeds at 4 weeks.  They need plenmty protein and nutrients at that age.  I use cobbydog from 3 weeks (weaning) to 9 months, then they can go on adult food,  and goats milk is better than cows milk.  Other than that just water is all they need to drink.  They don't need porridge, custard, scrambled eggs, weetabix or any of the stuff we used to feed puppies.

Kibble is fine - it is small in puppy/junior food.  It is properly formulated for pups with everything in it that they need.  You can soak it in warm water at 2/3 weeks to start them off but by 4 weeks they don't really need that and have teeth enough to crunch it.
