Pigs Wanted North Wales
« on: June 17, 2013, 08:40:22 am »
Over the next few weeks I would like to buy some rare breed pigs. Ideally I'm looking for a couple that are ready to go for slaughter, or nearly there, and/or up to bacon weight. Would prefer British Saddleback but any of the rare breeds would be considered. Ideally Anglesey, or close by in North Wales. Can collect. Please PM me with details or your phone number and I'll give you a ring.

we got our last ones  (Saddleback) from near Llyn Brenig - I don't think they  are on here but are a lovely set up and part of the pedigree club (so not cheap - think we paid £40 last time. - let me know if you want their details....

That's a bit far to be honest I was hoping for some a little bit closer.

We bought our saddle backs from somebody in Bryngwran.  I'm sure they had more litters as well as ours.  Want their number?  Also there's a woman in Llanberis whom we had the previous two large whites from, she has several breeds.  I found both breeders on the Preloved website.

Good. Eric (Holyhead) is actually in Bryngwran, is who we bought ours from. They were £40 and delivered, but a bit older at 7 months old :)
The one in Llanberis (Jane) doesn't seem to be on there atm.

I did get some pigs in the end. Along the way I saw some shocking examples too. And some pigs kept in pretty poor conditions. And someone who didn't want to sell to me once I said I wanted pigs for meat, despite their pigs being unsuitable for registration.

Matt, keep me in mind if you don't get sorted earlier. I live on the Lleyn and have a litter of GOS's due at the end of August. :fc:
