Price of fleece?
« on: June 12, 2013, 09:21:17 am »
Have put an advert on the local spinners/weavers notice board to see if I can sell some of the fleeces from my sheep (have too much here to consider using it all to felt soap)
The sheep are all texel crosses (one is LleynXtexel and her fleece was praised last year by the shearer as being good wool) others are suffolkXtexel and Wiltshire X texel.
What sort of price should I ask do you think? this is the first time I've sold on and struggling to find info on websites.
thanks Lisa

If good clean wool lacking in lots of vegatative matter and well skirted you can charge about £5 per fleece for that sort of wool  :)

Thank you, Val!  It is clean and well skirted so sounds good to me  :)
