What makes you annoyed?
« on: May 25, 2013, 02:29:51 pm »
Between various relationships I had been on my own for quite a while therefore had built up my own tool box. Nothing fancy, screwdrivers, hammers, bradawl, measure etc..
I have been with my OH for 8 years now and it still annoys me when he 'borrows' something from my tool box and doesn't put it back.
Life is like a bowl of cherries, mostly yummy but some dodgy bits

People (you know who you are!) who leave stuff out on the workbench and mess on the floor "in case they have to do some more to the job" then forget.  When I need a hammer or pair of pliers I generally need it NOW and really don't want to have to hunt for it.

Some one asking "where is the ???" and adding, "you are always moving stuff" then for me to fetch the item thats in the correct place where its always been then that other person leaving it out where they use it  , sooooo, I have to put it back then the same goes for the next time........I have never really lived on my own but at least I can understand that if you do, you put something down and thats where it stays...find it of not :innocent:  BUT, you also have no one to ask and no one to blame

Made me think years ago there was a wee book on Scottish words given away free in Scotland on Sunday newspaper - one one the words was (pardon me) 'Bastarding' (coloquial obviously!) with an example of how you would use it, - 'Whar's that bastardin' hammer?'

Good for all you tool box owners to remember I'm sure!  ;D

Personally I hate myself when I just have to impress a dvd or a book on someone and then invariably don't get it back  ::)  which reminds me .....

Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

:roflanim:  I can so relate to this - hubby in a previous life was a builder so obviously every single tool was his.  Whilst living with just my kids for a few years I built up my own tool kit which always had the tool I needed for anything.  Been re-married now for 10 years and we have been in our house for 11 years - and I can never lay my hands on a single screwdriver - if I'm lucky I might find something in the shed but mostly they will be out with him in his van.  If I moan about it he just says that there are tools at home and manages to spirit up a crappy old screwdriver from somewhere!!  I am back to using a knife to put a fuse in a plug!!!!

People who tell me about goats - what they like and how I should look after them - when they actually know nothing about goats. We have a friend who used to do that on the strength of his son-in-law had goats, until another ex-goatkeeper agreed with what I said. MInd you, it could be something to do with the other ex-goatkeeper being a man.

And my mother, when I tell here something to do with medical matters, gardening, anything really, saying she'll ask my brother on the strength of his getting a degree in biology 36 years ago. If I object she says, "Well, he has got a degree you know." and when I say, "So have I and a Masters and a teaching qualification," tells me, "But his is in biology."

You & I wouldn't get on then - I hate it when someone tidies up my tools before I've finished with them - my tools should be where I left them.  ;D

I can relate to this; I have a (possibly over-polite) tendency to listen very carefully when someone offers advice on a subject they know more about than me, but with some people, this seems to give them the impression that they are the expert on all things and start telling me what's what on other subjects - even ones they know I'm more qualified to answer.

Nothing worrries me any more , it used to till a near death experience with an anaphylaptic shock taught me to enjoy every day .

No matter what comes along it's the way that you handle it that matters not how annoyed you make yourself feel .
Good things happen every day so do bad things get used to it , get over it & get on with life .
