I have not used netting and wouldn't. But three/for strands of the white electric tape have worked for me in the past. Mains connected though.

If they have horns and get a head through electric netting or get an eartag caught in it, they will keep getting zapped and will panic and probably die of heart failure. not nice.

Don't.
I put some un-electrified netting up to contain some ducks and the polled goatling got so tied up in it she couldn't move.  Hate to think what would have happened with current through it.

I use plastic high poles and 5 strands of tape or wire.  never netting.  I've just bought a new fencer with more "joules" (1.7 as opposed to .5) than my old hotline one.  Now they don't go through it - hurray!  It has fast pulse too as I found they understood they could get through between pulses, cheeky things....

Never!I've lost sheep with electric sheep netting and goats are far more likely to test it
Personally I wouldn't use electric fencing without some sort of "barrier" behind it whether it be stock fence or hedgeing.Goats aren't stupid, they see a gap and they'll go through it :D

only ever electrify galvanised steel wire for goats..................MAINS only.
4 lines should be enough..............mains gives off  a 'field force' that generally stops them going too close.
Dont' ever consider a battery unit...........goats laugh at it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried using netting to get some sheep in past my goats and they intentionally pushed their heads and horns through it then started screaming. It wasn't even there to keep them anywhere. I definitely wouldn't use it but have used 3 strands to keep away from the willow I planted and that works.

We had a neighbours dog get tangled up in the poultry netting that we used to use, It was trying to get to the chickens so we where not to blame  :-\ it was screaming in shock and was so terrified it tried to bite the owner when she tried to get it out
We took it down after that incase any of our animals got caught up and its been in the garage ever since

Bought 2 rolls and only used it once as I lost a lamb in it. Made me feel quite sick to think of the poor thing struggling to get out.  :'(
