Hi all,

I am getting pigs for the second time and I am looking to cut my food bill where do get some free food from.

Nothing in this life is for free. You may be able to contact your local fruit and veg shop and ask if they would let you take their surplus or go round your local allottments and put a sign up offering pork in return for surplus fruit and veg or if you can grow your own veg for them. This all takes a lot of time and effort to do so its not 'free' at all.
If somebody does bring you surplus stuff check it over before giving it to your pigs, i had somebody bring me a bag of vegetable trimmings from their garden for my pigs and before giving it to the pigs i raked thro it to find............. a part eaten 'ham' sandwich ::) :o .... somebody's idea of a little joke... pulled them up about it and they were very apologetic saying they thought pigs ate anything!.... so beware.
Also bear in mind you will approx 4lb (1.8kg) to replace a 1lb (450g) pig nuts so its a lot to find and your animals will still need pig nuts for their protein content.
