Just finished watching Landward that I had recorded. Topic on liver fluke in cattle and sheep in Scotland which has been put down to the very wet weather. Being seen quite  bit on animals that were born and stayed on the same farm. nasty looking. another thing to worry about.

If you drench for fluke, you should be fine, keep a close eye for wet/slimmy bottom jaw.

Any concerns, pm me, used to shepherd a 1,000 ewes

Yes we've had 2 die already. Wormed again with combinex 4 weeks ago, just got FEC results back from vet today, still got fluke.
I could sit and cry but all I can do is drench again, do another FEC and hope.
There have been alot of losses round here. Tragic.

JMB try with a closantel based drug this time, FEC before and after see if that helps. But remember it will leave the young fluke behind

Just a short close up of me counting eggs in a very dry sample while they were talking about fluke. Hadn't wanted to be on it but gotta admit it made me smile to see it. It's on Iplayer still.

Can't get flukiver as vet recommended, seems to be a shortage, so we did them again today with Mebadown ( still closantel but a combi) and will FEC in another few weeks. Think it will be regular dosing from now on,

Good luck. Have you got any very very wet areas you can keep the sheep away from?

We don't have enough room to fence bits off really, although we are downsizing this year so should get easier. Maybe thinking of housing them in the winter if we only have a few.
We have a burn with wet areas around it, but it's been so wet this year and last that its all saturated.
Our farmer nextdoor has been fluking his sheep every few weeks so we are all in the same boat.
Anyway, fingers crossed that we can control it a bit from now on
