The bottle line in that situation is that 2 dogs not only died, but died in a horrific way.
There is no contridictory news reports, no overview, they died, someone is to blame!! There can be no 2 sides to this story! Its not as if the dogs and the police would have a different view of the same situation. The medis cannot muddle up the details of this, and take sides!!!!
Some reports claim they were found by an RSPCA officer while others claim the RSPCA were called in by the police. The Telegraph claims both, one after the other. This is a contradiction and the reality of which happened is quite relevant to the investigation. The entire story is overview, there are no specifics past the fact two dogs died a disturbing and readily avoidable death. The rest of your comments are short sighted reactionary noise and do nothing to help the situation or attempt to prevent it from occurring again. There are always two sides to a story. At least two. What those are will be highly relevant to whether or not the RSPCA or local police force take action against those responsible and at this point in time I have seen absolutely no information regarding the events which led to the dogs' death.
I really hope they are charged with this offence, if it was you or I, we would be already in a police station with our remaining animals being taken off us!!
That's just entirely inaccurate. It's actually very difficult for the police or RSPCA to remove animals from private ownership, far too difficult. This is a problem the RSPCA face on a daily basis where they have full knowledge an animal has been neglected or abused yet still need to go through far too lengthy processes to be able to remove those animals from their owner. Even by this point, they very rarely have the ability to remove any other animals from the owner at the same time. As for the potential of up to 6 months custodial sentence and/or up to £20,000 fine, do you have any idea how rare it is for CPS to even take such a case to court let alone for a judge to impose any form of meaningful sentence for the few found guilty? This has absolutely nothing to do with the police versus the rest of us and everything to do with highly ineffectual laws which no one with the authority to do so wants to act on.
Unfortunately it's very quickly become obvious this is yet another angry fist shaking thread where anyone who attempts to be rational is shouted down. For the situation itself, I'll continue following it and write to a relevant person when the inquiries have been completed and, with any luck, some additional information will be made available. As for this thread on the subject, I'm out.
