My husband has been to feed our 3 Large Black boars (about 6 months old). They are VERY free ranging in an area on the back of the farm. One of the boys seemed fine at first but then some blood appeared from his mouth. He then started vomiting with blood in it and then went away and lay down. The other 2 seemed to be fine. We have spent the last hour looking up books and googling. Don't know why I didn't come on here straight away to ask for advice?! Could it be heat stroke? It has been incredibly hot here in Argyll today. I haven't seen the boys today so don't know where they have been hanging about - presumably in the shade somewhere but my husband says they didn't have any mud on them. (We have 4 girls on the other side of the farm and they were covered in mud tonight). Also wondered about poisoning? We have bracken and foxgloves on the farm but the pigs have been around those since they were born? Wouldn't think they would start eating them now?! Does this sound like something anyone recognises? Hoping someone can help and we can take action straight away. My husband has gone back out to try and cool him incase it is heatstroke.
Many thanks.
