A Quiet End To Winter

It's finally here, the last day of winter, in meteorological terms anyway. And it it looks like winter will end on a quiet note. It will remain settled and predominantly dry as we head through the first 5 days of March too, so the traditional idiom of March "comes in like a lion" will not hold true this year. After a cold start this morning, any mist, fog and low cloud should clear most areas to a mainly dry day with plenty of sunshine on offer. The exceptions will be the southern coastal counties of England and the far north of Scotland where it will likely remain cloudy with patchy outbreaks of rain or drizzle. Temperatures reaching 7C in Cardiff, 8C in London and Edinburgh, perhaps 10C in Manchester, though temperatures lower where we hang on to the cloud.

Hung onto the cloud here!
Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

iv just had this overnight operational run of the GFS model shows very cold air pushing back in from the east as we head towards the middle of March. As you should know by now that’s an eternity away in weather forecasting terms, but it’s something to keep a close eye. Winter may not be done with us this year yet.keeping watch as lambing in full swing .

We have had a good few days of  :sunshine: and the snow is slowly melting. Odd sitting in the sun in shirt sleeves drinking tea and watching the ducks on the ice and snow.I am unable to dig the garden but I have planted some seeds to celebrate the end of winter. Just seen a flock of birds migrating back to the north.
