I put the goats out as usual this morning and went out to do a job for someone, came back, took the visiting dogs for their walk up the fields, just as I'd got to the top I realised there was alot of fussing in the bottom field.
 
Tizaala's CMM ram was chasing one of the young goats around the field, very persistent full speed. Luckily he's not quite so agile as the goats and can't climb up the bulgy base of the old oak tree.  By the time I'd got back down two very steep muddy fields and put the dogs indoors all 4 goats were 5 foot up the tree. Rescued them back to the yard for the day, one definately in season, one possible.

The kids don't think much of being shut in for 2 days and of course it's one I'm keeping not one that went to a new home this afternoon.

I have a boer male (7mnth old) who has to stay in while the girls are let out to graze (maybe too late, not sure if he got his sister  ) I was going to ask for thoughts on letting him run with 2 female lambs (about 9 month old) for company.
Am I asking for problems? It doesn't seem fair to keep him in all the time.

Actually my goats only go out once a week at the moment or so, it is only this week that it's becoming dry enough to let them out maybe some more. But they are used to it.
 
Your entire male kid will certainly worry the lambs, even if he is not actually achieving anything. He really would need a friend of his own kind (castrated) and then you could let them out at alternate times/days or so. Lots of people let the males out at night time, when girls are inside.
