Equine tax

Defra have come up with the idea that all horse owners should pay £10.50 per animal per year, something to do with disease. More like another tax to me.  :horse:

as if the equine industry was not already suffering from the massive influx of poorly and irresponsibly bred animals
more horses will now be dumped on rescues, this is all that this tax will contribute to the industry+ more money to the goverment of course!!!!!!

Totally agree with you it's just a way of getting more revenue in for the government.
If they could guarantee that all the money would go towards making sure all Equine are looked after properly,Then no problem .
But the sad fact is it won't.  :(
It will go into a central reserve or some thing of that nature and get swallowed up by administration and NEVER EVER get to where it is really needed.
Kind regards
Joe
