yup, its petition time again!! yay!!! the first of the year.
 
 
this time im really not happy, they are planning to dispose of lots of nuclear waste deep in the lake district.  if your happy with that then please dont sign this one.
 
 
this is one of those problems that they should have planned and thought out, way before they went ahead and generated all this toxicity. the nuclear industry still doesnt have a guaranteed safe way of disposal of what could be over 100 000 tonnes of waste, so they want to bury it in a national park. seems fair? not!

Nothing to do with petitions just a cowardly bunch of councilors who have kissed goodbye to millions of pounds of investment and thousands of jobs. They already store waste at Sellafield and this would have been a lot safer.
And yes if they wanted to do it on my doorstep I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Think i'm with you on this one BB, its a problem that ain't going to go away and it needs dealing with and as you say they already store waste in the area and i don't think it would affect the tourist trade of the lakes, it doesn't now, didn't Copeland & Allerdale vote for it and it affects their districts the most?

ps i might add i have worked for a lot of years in the petrochem/pharmaceutical industry which has a worse safety record than the nuclear industry, i sit within a ticking bomb most days as i am at this moment, one spark and we're all dust!
