I've just used Dectomax its covers a large range of worms and external parasites. Heard good reviews on it, I'd be interested too on what general wormers to use as i wont be doing dectomax all the time

I am new to sheep keeping but from what I can gather it does depend on where you live.
I would suggest that you speak to your vet about it. Mine was very helpful and has advised that I don't worm as a matter of course because of the resistance to some worming medicine but to wait until the spring and then get an egg count done.

If you go to www.scops.org.uk you'll find lots of information on the Sustainable Control of Parasites in Sheep.  It includes products and strategies for avoiding resistance in your own flock.  You can help avoid resistance by things like grazing lambs on a different field each year and using aftermath grazing (what grows back after the hay is cut) to graze weaned lambs as this won't have been used by stock for several months and therefore be relatively "clean".
