Hi,
The fact it opens as read only is going to be down to the way you are opening it. The date of 2013, that is the date the calculator was written.
If you make the donation requested when you downloaded it you will receive a later version that contains a lot more functionality.

thanks for that, does the updated version need to be opened in any particular way ? I'm interested as I tried both files that came in the download and opened them by clicking on them, strange..

I had a little poke about and have opened it and  as I feed in metric made the required alteration, nice .
