yes indeed mammyshaz!
I can provide a mix of:
Maran x RIR (produces a blackrock type hen)
White Sussex x RIR (produces a standard warren type hen)
Cream Legbar x RIR (produces an olive egg layer hen) I retained a few of these cockerels to maturity last year to see how they turned out, they were Redbbarred, and truly stunning looking bird.

Thanks for that. I was looking at the end of Feb to start hatching so will keep you in mind for then.  We are very new to this as only kept a few hybrids for a couple of years so thinking sexlink would give us a helping hand. I would love to keep a cockerel when I see some of the stunning photos but our contract clearly states No Cockerels   :-\ .

He's lovely.  :trophy:

We have a utility line RIR cockerel who is a real gent to his hens and very good around people. He keeps all our smaller cockerels in line without any real aggression. Very calm and docile.

Mays - do you sell hatching eggs from your pure RIR's? I am actually after a RIR cockerel later this year to breed to my (mostly) copper maran hens next year , so if you breed any this year, can you keep a cockerel?

But I do have an 24 egg incubator too, can hatch myself.

He is a real stunner! I really wish you were this side of the Channel as I would love to own some RIR's.
