Reading the threads on feeding my mind has turned to butter ???  please someone help, I have a field with my Heb ram and 4 heb ewes, then I have croft land with 2 wethers and 3 ewes from this year, plus 2 goats (Bagots) twice a day they receive sheep crunch and flaxed maize with hay, the goats also have garlic powder in there mix and have the use of a red lick (not accessable to the sheep) I have a bucket of nutrient stuff in the field with the ram and ewes, sorry can't remember name, smells like molasses, good for twin lamb etc. What else should I be feeding? and is the sheep cruch ok for the boys.  ??? ???

That's pretty much what mine get, minus the flaked maize. One of my goats, who has a tendency to skinniness get the flaked maize, the others would get too fat on it. I'm also on rough, high up grazing so nothing at all of food value there any more.

My general coarse mix says it's suitable for all sheep, tups included.

Keep an eye on their condition - too fat (to me that's over 3.5) cut down the cake, too thin (to me that's under 2.5) increase it. Simples  :) Well, in theory anyway. In practice a flock has a range but that's the range I try to keep mine within and managed it last year on the above.
