The ponies have a selter, but never really use it although if it is bad they will shelter under the trees - they are hardy wee things ;D The Kune Kunes and Matilda don'y seem to mind as they have quite good coats, but the saddleback weaners were holding up their wee trotters today - don't think they were too impressed with the snow. They have loads of space inside the steadings so can stay in if they want.
How are you coping with your first taste of a Highland winter? Especially with the lack of 'feckin' insulation :roflanim: That did make me laugh :innocent:

I know should not swear. I think the snow on our roof had melted as ours get the sun next door doesn't but if we can get though the winter with no feckin boiler (there I go again) we will be well hard. Dont think the chucks are impressed

It's a tough life but someone's got to do it! It's a shock when you're not born and bred to it though :)

Invest in a stove with back boiler. We havevhad our stove out for 3 weeks and turned the heating on continuous. Now it's running at almost full whack for the first time ever   :'( oh the cost!  I cannot remember life without our stove, so much warmer and cheaper.
Just sorting a replacement stove and installer ( need a hetas cert now  )

We have not got a boiler stove but if we moved to a more rural area will definitely put one in.

Gosh you guys have got proper snow and winter has well and truly started. We have only had a smattering over the past couple of days, nothing more.  My husband had to get down the A12/M25 to Ebbsfleet in Kent yesterday and spent 4 hours trying to get there when it should have taken 2.  A few flakes down and there were loads of crashes......   Us Southerners are just so crap when it comes to winter! (otherwise were pretty much perfect  :-J).
