How do you all keep up?
« on: November 23, 2012, 10:42:21 pm »
My OH is away :'( and I have spent a bit of the evenings looking through the forums and I am AMAZED at you!!! :o
I have dipped into the dog bit (have dogs, but never find the time to look) and jokes and coffee lounge and members only and of course pigs, sometimes sheep and poultry.
So many people have a wide ranging knowledge of so many things (I forgot crafts) and answer or take part in many discussions and share their wealth of knowledge with others.
I know if I have asked something I am guaranteed an answer very promptly - and I can take ages to read what is happening ::)
So my conclusion is you are obvoiusly super human and my time management is sh*t :roflanim:
But a big thanks anyway

Carl, a word of warning -DON'T drop  whatever you are scrolling with in the bath, or you won't be juggling for a very long time ::)

How to keep up:
1. Neglect housework
2. Multi-task - I come online when I am eating or having a cuppa, which is when I sit down

Seriously, you can't keep up and you have to be prepared to do a few posts and mark the rest as read, or you'd never have a life.

Interestingly, it seems there was a Daily Mail ( ::)) article that made out women (not men, watching the footy or on the XBox of course) were neglecting their kids by being online. I read some of the (very funny) reactions.

But there were folk who were a bit thoughtful about it and wondered if they were a bit hooked on the Internet.

I certainly feel like I'd be more on top of my life, house and farm if I didn't come online as much. But then I'd 'talk' to no-one and I can't be chasing around all the time.

Better not try catching up on posts in the shower I don't think  ;)

I just have lots of tea and coffee breaks, I do spend a lot of time cleaning due to the B&B, but I love to keep going as sitting infront of the TV gets me fidgeting...always has.

My brother lives alone and certainly does no cleaning :innocent:  but he E Mails me at least twice a day with very interesting and informative E Mails, news, the environment, nature, IT etc etc, I have a job to say much in reply, all I do is, walk the dogs, clean, shop and eat!!! then there is FB and this again!!!!

Same as jaykay

I'd get more spinning and knitting done if I didn't TAS and Ravel - but then I'd know a lot less stuff (and a lot less people too) and need more external social interaction.

TAS has come up with the goods for me several times, makes me laugh daily; Ravelry and TAS (and TAS folk) have taught me much of what I know about spinning... it seems like a fair balance to me.  But then, we do have some fastidious relatives won't come inside the house...  :-J
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
