well, we might try for october - as we are off to thailand in november, so that would work out easy. but we don't want guaranteed miserable weather - so we'll probably go for next year - july/august

the motorhome is out for the honeymoon - she wants luxury (she's marrying the wrong guy)

thanks for all the kind words

Ungrateful madam, only joking (she's quite right luxury every time). What part of Thailand you off to? I was there in January,we did Phuket but that was way too busy and commercialised for us - but beautiful, the first time we went was over 10 yrs ago and we did Bangkok and Hua Hin. We spent a night this year visiting friends in Koh Lanta and we fell in love with this small uncommercialised island. We loved it so much that we have booked again for January next year and I can't wait for 3 weeks on the sun. This year we also did 5 nights in Hong Kong and would not recommend that to anyone!!!!!!

couple of nights in bangkok and then 10 days at Railay which i believe is near Krabbi but it isn't at all commercialised or spoilt by party going travellers!!

Congratulations! This will be our first TAS wedding, I think. We've had one baby and one on the way - how wonderful!

Congratulations to you both!  Hope you have a wonderful time in Thailand - I'm very jealous as I worked there for a year and would love to go back.  I'm guessing the new building isn't going to be luxrious enough for the wedding reception!! ;D

the new stables won't be big enough for a venue - but i'm planning on having a get together/BBQ and sing-along the day after the wedding - so it could be the venue for that!!!

one of my good friends is a wedding photographer - i've asked him if he wants an invite or the business!!

Good call on the "or" part there... I've now shot for three friends and find I stay pretty much in photographer mode through it, so find it very difficult to relax and enjoy the wedding. Next set of friends have booked me as well .. I'm kind of looking forward to the next time friends choose to use someone else so I can just be a guest and try not to keep checking on what the photographer is doing!

yeah, i'm not going to use him (unless he gets another booking which would mean he couldn't come - in that case i'll book him!)

he's offered to do the morning and ceremony shots for free so long as once the meal starts he can bin the camera. so that suits me,
