Thanks!

Just wanted to say thank you for all the good advice posted by TAS pigkeepers. We've just taken our first weaners to the abattoir and it all went really well.
Thanks to the knowledge gained from the TAS community, we put the trailer into the pig enclosure a couple of days ago. We fed them in there and they chose to sleep in the trailer rather than the ark.

I slapmarked them on Saturday and they barely flinched. Even the eAMLwent smoothly.

Last night we closed the trailer while they were eating and this morning they were still asleep when we started to tow them out of the field. (I did give them some water before started the journey). I reversed the trailer to the appropriate holding pen (which was the bit that I was most worried about) and they only slight problem was that the pigs didn't want to come out of the trailer. Eventually, with me on the feed bucket and OH on the pig boards we managed to persuade them in. Once in they were perfectly happy and we were able to leave them without a qualm.

Couldn't have done it half so well without having read all the posts on TAS. Thanks again :pig:
