« on: November 19, 2012, 09:11:33 pm »
I ran out of food and my pigs are going in a week.  All I could hold of locally until tomorrow is weaner sow rolls.  Will these be ok until the end?

if you mean sow and weaner nuts, then yes. We feed our weaners on this until they go to the abattoir 4 months later. As a matter of interest what were you giving as food to them in any case

Ah, weaner pellets.  It didn't have the 'sow' bit on it so I wasn't sure if it was different stuff.  :)

there are sow rolls, weaner pellets, and sow and weaner pellets. if you look at ingredients they are not the same.
but either way itl be fine to feed, just beware changing the main ingredient, ie a barley based feed instead of a wheat based feed, can sometimes give them the squits. choosing the same brand should help.
weaners is usually upto 30kg then finishers replaces it.
