Say hello to Struan and Dougray who we met today, they will be coming home this weekend and we are very pleased to meet them!

2 half brothers, yearlings hence the shaggy appearance....! they love a out of date cinnamon raisin bagel apparently!!

Not halter trained but the black one took a rug this afternoon at the first try and he had never seen one before in his life. If anyone wishes to make acontribution in ginger biscuits to the halter training regime I fell I might be needing that! I actually got a wee nip on the hand from their dad Rambo due to turning up to meet him and not having a pocket full of something crunchy to feed him, that will teach me!!

They are a apir of cuties, I am actually a wee bit in love with them, thats not right surely!

We were looking for a a pair of companion animals for our smallholding and we are fully committed to giving them the best and most loving home they could have! Loads of pics coming as soon as we get them home, the yearling coats are not photo model quality but we love them dearly anyway!!!

That's Struan, he is going to be my other halfs and dougray the other one is mine. Dougray has a lovely band on his nose too, gorgeous colour!

Well they are home, came out of the box and into the field with barely a whimper!

They are 2 very different temperaments, the white one is a bit of a bully and can shove his half brother out of the way when there is food on offer!

They didn't come to us at all yesterday but today followed us down the field when we walked with the bucket calling "donkeys!!" and they are still very hand shy, maybe that will come with time? They are inquisitive beasts though and when the field cat came in about today they were exceptionally interested to make his acquaintance!!

They haven't been near the field shelter or the water trough as far as I can see, were just leaving them to work it out themselves, went ot get some hay / straw today to keep in the barn for winter incase we get snow, also have some mollichaff for them but so far they are working out great on the grass only.

Think they will get a bit bolder day by day? at this rate we wont get a rug on them never mind a halter? any secrets to it or is it just day at a time?
