3 laying ducks needing a new home (Droitwich, Worcestershire)
« on: October 28, 2012, 05:40:16 pm »
Hi all,

I am looking for a new home for my 3 ducks. I have 1 x khaki campbell (3 1/2 yrs old) and 2 x aylesburys (both 1 1/2 yrs old). They are all good layers, laying an egg a day each without fail. I have had the khaki campbell from a week old and acquired the Aylesburys 4 months ago as their owner was moving to a smaller home.

The ducks are in good health and were wormed about 12 wks ago. The khaki campbell is still moulting but new feathers are coming through so she is beginning to look a little smarter.

The 3 ducks live together in my garden. I would not want to split them up as they are good pals so they would all need to go to the same new home. I am reluctant to see them go but my work is taking up more my time and the ducks are one extra thing I don't have time to give my full attention too. I am also pregnant which is making life slightly more of a challenge!

I live near Droitwich, Worcestershire. I do not want to send the ducks anywhere commercial, a family home or smallholder would be ideal
Please let me if you are interested.

Kind regards,

Ruth

hi, thats a shame you need to part with them.

how quickly do you want them away?

i ask as i would be more than happy to offer them a family home, they could live with the three i have, and free range in the field as do mine, but i am in ayrshire, a fair distance from you. but, steve will be travelling down the country in mid december.

if you havent managed to get them rehomed by then, do let me know, and we will help you out, i know how hard it is to part with animals, i can assure you that they would have a decent happy life here!

Thank you for your kind offer!  :) If only the distance wasn't so great. I will see if there is anyone else closer but I will certainly keep you in mind if I have no other luck rehoming the ducks.

Ideally I would like to rehome the ducks within the next 2 wks but there is no harm if I have to hang onto them a little longer.

Thanks again.

Guessing I am too late for these duckies?

I am looking for three ladies (urgently) to join my two Aylesbury drakes and a duck who, comes spring, may cause her serious harm without a better sex ration...

Would happily travel to Droitwich to collect  :eyelashes:

Hi Polished Arrow,

Thank you for your offer. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but I'm not sure my ducks would appreciate being tormented by two drakes come the spring! They have had a very sheltered life so far!!  ;)

I hope you don't mind but I think I may hold out and see if any other offers are made.

Thanks again though.

Ruth  :)

Oh well!  I shall pop to Abergavenny and buy some there.
I'll break it gently to our chaps!

Hope they are all very happy in their new home
