Hi all, just wondered if anyone in the kent/sussex area would be able to teach me how to lay a hedge. I do have a some practical experience of hedging, but the more the better. Id be willing to pay, or pay with my own free range pork and hogget. Many thanks

While a book is no substitute for face-to-face teaching the BTCV Hedging manual contains an awful lot of good advice and information. My copy is about 35 years old but it gets updated from time to time.

We are running a hedge laying course in November and still have a space but we are in mid-Wales

I've just done a 2 day introduction to hedgelaying course with the Earth Trust at Little Wittenham in Oxon. They run three or four a year (but I think that was the last one for this winter) and do advanced courses for relaying old hedges etc. It was really good. My husband is a professional hedgelayer and would be happy to take you on for a few days,.... but we're in Lincolnshire!
He does travel, but not normally more than 50 miles from home.

The NHLS as mentioned above should have someone on their membership list if not on the contractors page.
