I have just managed to borrow a high strength monkey wire tightener thingy.. its brand new and worth about £150 -  so I gotta be super careful with it! LOL! Replacement posts coming this afternoon, U nails, 6" nails, wire stockfence there already plus a few bits of post for bracing. What else do I need? hammer and barbed wire on their way down at weekend? Thinking thinking...................... oooh stones for filling in post hole gaps!

Barbed wire not good.....can you get plain wire instead? Reason its not good is it can rip any jumping livestock, dog or deer to bits.....looking forward to the fencing party :excited:

Hi Val
They won't jump... never even try - plus the blackthorn hedge behind is way too thick for them. There is already barbed there and owners want me to replace like with like.
Me too, me too! I bed it lashes down with rain! Oh well, soft soil for easier ramming! LOL!

LOL... you might change your mind when you see how much needs doing!
Either that or you will both just think I am a wuss and wonder what I was worrying about all along.
Actually, no one area is TOO awful... its just the fact that nearly all the posts are very very loose. Only a few places need replacement stockfencing and a few posts need replacing/a second one put in next to it. It's just making 100+ fence posts stable that I am most concerned about... and bracing the post and rail that is leaning... from the inside. And the pig area rebuilt. And the catching pen strengthened! LOL! Tored just thinking about it!
I feel hugely relieved though that I have 2 other people who know what they are doing to advise and help out. You are both great, great ladies

I reckon we'll be fine ;D

What a great idea ...... group working so much for fun......even if it is raining..... and everyone learns something! ...... If I wasn't visiting  the soon-to-be-mine smallholding that day I'd join you.

In fact it has given me an idea ..... when I get to Carmathenshire permenantly ..... and before I'm drowned in work with my own livestock I'll offer my assistance to other local smallholders....... Hi everyone just off the end of M4 anyone want a willing pair of hands? (much experience with all types of livestock in past .... just a little rusty like everything else this year :excited:

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.
