Destination Wales!
« on: September 28, 2012, 08:17:34 am »
Hi everyone

Offer just been accepted on small holding north of Landeilo.   :excited:

Was made redundant from my Agric lecturer job (of 20 yrs) five years ago ...... wellies been housing spiders ever since. Now with children flown nest,  and new fiancee,  it's off to Wales to test if those wellies are still waterproof!

Fingers crossed that all property deals involved in this move run smoothly.

Love to be in contact with any other small holders ... particularly those in Carmarthenshire.

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the weather forcasts .... better check those wellies before I cross the bridge!
Am trying not to get too excited (soooo much could go wrong at this stage!).... but great fun investigating possible livestock ... have worked with dairy and beef cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry before so the decision is more what is most suitable for the land and what breed to go for?   Any suggestions?  (Before anyone asks .... about 10 acreas good grazing.)

Linda
PS hope to meet those of you in the area when I move in.

Hi and welcome   from sunny Shropshire (well it is at the moment).  Hope all goes well with your move.  I'd say go for goats but I might be a teeny bit biased.   ;D
