Aw, Heidi, that sounds dreadful.  Not just having to get over the surgery  :unwell: but then your colleagues being awful to you.  I can't imagine how horrible that feels.  {{{hug}}}

goodness, that's not a desirable way to feel about going back to work!

i am off myself at the moment, and likely to be so for around 3 months. i also work for the nhs, and have had the opposite experience so far! my workmates have been texting and calling, chatting on fb, and some have even been to see me even though i live 'out in the sticks'.

it is at these times that you need the support of those around you, and i am actually missing seeing my workmates, its such a shame that you can't feel the same due to their attitude.

i hope it resolves for you!

I cant see that you have a problem myself. From what you have said it is them with the problem to me. Just hold your head high and know that you are better than them as you would not treat people that way! They dont pay your wages so just do your job, ask for help if needed and if they wont give it ask someone higher than them and tell them why you are asking. If you act like you have not been away they will too I am sure. Good Luck and dont worry , you have done nothing wrong :hug:

 ;D ;D  that's funny!!

Heidi don't let it get to you. Go in, do your work and let smallminded people have their smallminded opinions.
I used to work for the NHS, I was a nursing sister on a gynae dept, I think when you work for a notoriously short staffed organisation, sickness becomes quite a taboo in that it only takes one person to be poorly for the workplace to become even more stressful. None of this is YOUR fault though, you can't help being ill!!
It will pass with time, you will be back in the swing of things and they will find someone else to grizzle about!

If they keep treating you badly, ask them if they want you to go home again. Maybe that'll make them stop and think about what they are doing...

For goodness sake, it's the NHS - they should know about being sick and getting rehabilitated! If they can't crack that, who can?! I keep my fingers crossed for you that it'll sort itself out in no time. All the best!  :fc:
