Come back please Kitchen Cottage
« on: September 01, 2012, 12:03:04 am »
KC, most of us were enjoying your being here and interested in the topic you raised.

Please don't give in to the playground bullies; their words can't hurt you unless you decide to let them.  Know that when certain people go 'off on one', most of us mentally hit the 'Ignore' button - and our views of yourself, or any other contributor in such circumstances, will be formed by our own knowledge and assessment and not guided by the ramblings of bullies.

You made it very clear why you used the terminology you did; they are entitled to their different opinions but not to impune your character.  It was a carelessly chosen phrase and I hope, because I think better of him, that Mr Pig did not intend it as a personal and unjustifiable judgement.

If you see this, I hope you will feel that the forum and most of its members have something to offer you, and will rejoin.  You can always add anyone who bullies you to your 'Ignore' list ;)  and just read and interact with the rest of us.

Edited to remove ill-advised adverb.

KC I do hope you are not leaving the forum, you have lots of interesting information to share, not least introducing that RBST feeding chart from the Berkshire club which I am now using this year to try and end up with less fat pigs.  I would never have discovered it otherwise.  I'm really sorry if the comment I made on the Essex issue caused any offence, certainly none was intended.  The most important thing is that your Charlotte is a lovely prolific sow who you are very happy with and produces great piglets whatever her ancestry.     Tamsaddle

Yeah, maybe I could lose the 'vitriolic'. :surrender:  I'll go back and do that.  Forgot to take my own advice - write what you want, edit out all the adverbs, re-read and post. :)

Ill-judged phrasing (not me this time  :relief:) resulting in exit of valued member  :'(

Except "vitriolic" is an adjective!

There's always one  ::)  :huff:

Actually I never did get the hang of all the names of all the different parts of speech, but I thought adverb was allowed to be used "to change or qualify the meaning of a verb, adjective, other adverb, clause, sentence or any other word or phrase" (except not nouns.)

And, whilst I don't mind being pulled up on grammer if I am wrong, given that this thread relates to outspokenness and bullying losing us members, (a) perhaps it would have been kinder to PM me any such criticisms and (b) if this subtopic needs further discussion please can we take it in another thread and not have kitchen cottage find her 'please come back' thread turning into another debate...  ::)

Very Sorry. It's really hard to see how this forum works.  Serious and humour are all mixed up.

the forum was started by Dan and rosemary   why because just who do you ask for good knowledgeable advice   if you have no prior knowledge of livestock      so if somebody comes on and gives guff in the pretext that what they are saying is genuine and believable    it is going to be questioned

nobody likes to post in their view wisdom  and be corrected      not to bad if the poster is correct and that can be backed up     but just look what happens when they are wrong    i would have loved to see your (sally in the Norths) expression's when you read the replies to this thread   a case in point the corrector being corrected

on the horsie section there is a thread towing a 505   an opinion was posted as fact and did get a responce    the guru on towing saw the post flagged on the internet   and responded    but the one that gave the dissinformation acknowledged his mistake   no falling out no personal PMS  that degenerated just good advice to a common problem       and that is what this forum should be

so the forum has come this      you can post guff   be proved it is guff and of no relevance    and anybody that dares to correct them is classified as a bully    well i suppose that is progress :farmer:

Whilst I don't want to see anyone leave the forum, or feel that they have to leave, it is the case that we cannot prevent people from leaving if they want to.

Kitchen Cottage, if you are reading this, I did read and appreciate your posts, as I do with all the other members.
