Big hello :)
« on: August 31, 2012, 05:44:13 pm »
Sorry a bit back to front. I googled for pig forums and got the pig section, then found the chook section and today found the main forum page.  Bit on the slow side, me. Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all. It has been a long time since I joined a forum as my last experience got me into all sorts of trouble. Not only did I end up getting truly hooked on chickens (much encouraged  :excited:) and then onto pigs, but I always wasted loads and loads of time  :innocent:
Met loads of fab people though.  Had some great meet ups. Slightly out there but always
I am in mid Suffolk, keeping pigs, chickens and quail. Pig wise..  I'm fairly good on the meat side of things and have done a fair number of batches each Spring, but am breeding for the first time this year.  Chicken wise, I have kept all sorts but have really fallen for Croads. Just such beautiful graceful birds.  I also tend to do a big batch of table birds each year.   I have also delved into quail and are still a bit undecided.  I'm going to see how they over winter outdoors this year and go from there.
Hiya

I am trying to stick to the 'it has got to be useful/eaten/profitable' type of rule. Do love donkeys though....

Hello  from Staffordshire
You could justify donkeys the same way I do my horses as 'essential therapy'  they keep me sane when everything else is going to pot!

 Hello Mrs S.  This is the only forum I have ever joined and its addictive.  Loads and loads of lovely people with exceptional advice and support so don't need or want to join any other forums.  Was down in Suffolk a few weeks ago to visit my 91 year old auntie.
Doing that swan thing - cool and calm on the surface but paddling like crazy beneath.

Welcome, from the other end of the country!

Are you anywhere near Clare? Used to have friends lived there and visited a few times.
