I'm so sorry. We've today restocked yet again after the fox. So upsetting.

Oh Brijjy that's horrible.  My friend actually posted on FB a couple of days ago that her and her young son pulled over to let a duck and several ducklings cross the road but some ar$e boyracer deliberately ran them over in front of them  :'(  she and her son were distraught and its even worse for the owner so I'm really sad for you. (this happened in Hertfordshire so not sure where you are? If by fluke of chance you are in Shenley I might have a number plate for you!)

We had our 4th cat in 2 years hit last week. She survived, the others did not. I hate people who think its ok to drive so fast. We currently have a film of a prison officer on a motorbike who blatantly speeds past our house (approx 90mph in a 30 zone....) twice a day. Waiting for the police to come see it and then promptly tell us they can't do anything because 'speeding is subjective....' - heard that one before.

sending you lots of love and remember Karma, it bites the butts of people who deserve it and hopefully you'll have a front line seat xxx

I'm so sorry about this. I know you can't always help hitting an animal on the road but you can, at least, stop and pick it up and look for one that's been injured. What a horrible thing to find :bouquet:

On FB recently a lad on a scrambler deliberately ran over an killed a gsd, and posted the photos, is this an escalation of happy slapping?  Are they deliberately doing it to show off to their simple minded friends.?
Sorry for your loss :bouquet:

I think it is, Tiz.  Locally there has been a spate of not only shooting pet cats but also deliberately running them over. One such incident witnessed by a neighbour  :(

As if the devastation caused by this mindlessness towards animals isn't enough, there's masses of research been done on abusers & murderers & they've frequently been found to have a history of being cruel to animals, sometimes as quite young children  :o :o :o
Have you managed to find any of the wee ones this morning?  :fc:

Re fencing the stream - would a rail over the stream with lengths of chain hanging down do the trick? A bit like those fly screen thingies for kitchen doors. It would let water through but if it started to block would just swing to allow water to flow. Chain could be of whatever thickness was required.

On the radio yesterday they were on about moving the shooting magazines to the top shelf with the porn because it was a bad influence on young people, perhaps these a$$holes had been reading shooting magazines, this could explain there behaviour  :-J

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, it means alot. None of the little ones made an appearance the next day unfortunately. The good news is that the lone survivor is still alive and doing well. He/she is under the lamp with a cuddly dog toy and a portable radio to cwtch up to. It is now my daughters pet so we are definitely keeping it. She hasn't named it yet other than Lucky Ducky, that'll probably be the name that sticks.
