RIP Boris
« on: August 10, 2012, 09:32:22 pm »
My big hairy baby sadly suufered a massive heart attack tonight and is no longer with us.

We're all distraught  :'( :'( :'(
After having had the reaction to the flea treatment last weekend he had been checked by the vet and given the all clear on Monday. He's been back to his old self all week and we'd spent a lovely day outside with him today (feeding him minute steak from my BBQ roll, when Bruce wasn't looking  ;) :innocent:) He went bounding out to see my neighbour this evening and the next thing was on the ground, fitting  :'( Poor boy passed quickly and without pain or distress, but life just won't be the same without him.  :gloomy: :gloomy: :gloomy:
Sleep well Bo-bo, we'll miss you at Yonderton  :-*

We're both so sad for you all Karen  :'( :'(  - he looked so well yesterday too.
Across the Rainbow Bridge you go big boy, where you will be forever young & running free - say hiya to my Widget for me when you see her.
He left quickly, with his family all around him - just how it should be, but I know it doesn't make the void he'll leave behind any less painfull to bear.  Try to fill it with happy memories - they all leave footprints on our hearts.

Im so sorry, thats such sad news for you :bouquet: :'( :( . Glad that he went at home with you though, not at the vets, and also that his body made the decision and you didnt have to, and he was having fun right to the end.

Thanks everybody  :-*
Still fairly shell shocked this morning, it was just awful waking up and not having him right at my feet by the side of the bed like every day for the last 10 years  :( There's a big, Boris shaped space in every room of the house today to match the one in our hearts and lives  :'(
Going off to bury him now, in his favourite spot in the top field (away from watercourses and not a field that will ever have stock on) it's where he used to rub himself in deer poo at every opportunity  ::) Oh I remember the amount of times we had to wash him off and all the grumbling I did about it at the time.......... what I wouldn't give to see him standing covered from head to toe in it now  :'( :'( :'(

Karen, I am so sorry for your loss but at least it sounds as if he went quickly and he had been enjoying his BBQ beforehand.  :bouquet:

So sorry Karen.  Our Sophie went the same way.  We were devastated but in a way relieved that she didn't suffer a long illness and we were with her at the end.
