Please don't keep saying "girls" and "boys". It's "gilts" and "boars".
Thank you for all advice & help here... Just like to say that for a newbie to pigs, I do happen to know what boar's, gilts & sows are - needing a bit of advice on the husbandry side of things doesn't mean that someone is totally ignorant
The easiest way to sell your pork to friends and family, is to get a registered butcher to cut up and package up the meat which is then sold

It's just the "boys/girls" thing always grates on me. Just a personal bugbear. A bit like "chooks"! Please don't take offence - none intended!
Here is me being dense. What is a "cutting plant". Is it a completely different trade to being a butcher, or could some be both? Tamsaddle
