thats the last of the hebrideans tucked up safely in the freezer. (excluding one lucky pet who escaped slaughter yet again... ::) )
they eluded capture for a year or 2 , but now caught, sheared, killed, self-butchered and in the freezer - which took all 5 fully grown sheep.
i really wanted their horns back but no, no, no. (once they r here, they r ours  :-[ ) in the end the abattoir vet refused too. shame - they were worth more than the meat in a way..
anyway, dogs v very happy carrying a rack of ribs each. lol

Thats a bit mean of the abbatoir, Millers of Speyside were very helpful about letting us have a ram lambs horns back. After all, the abbatoirs often already walk off with most of the offal, or at least thats been my experience.
And our vet removed our old rams horns after he was PTS too....

these were fully grown rams horns x 10. could easily have sold em for £150 min on ebay without even trying. they were really huge and thick too.
30kg each sheep.

That's why the abattoir wouldn't let you have the horns back - they know the value on ebay too.  Black horn is definitely sought-after.

Shame about the horns... my abattoir always lets me keep the horns (obviously not the skull!!) and doesn;t charge for doing so either. Yours sound like meanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :innocent:
