Border Union show
« on: July 23, 2012, 08:10:05 pm »
Hello all,

Gearing up for the show at the weekend. Looks like a reasonable entry of goats (compared to other shows).

I am worried they might cancel though. Has anyone heard anything?

Hi Beth,

Drove past today - the tents etc are being put up, and the ground around here is reasonably firm. It as been dry(ish) for a few days now, but as I am typing it has started raining again.

I am sure it will be on... better just make that last goat coat that I need....

see you there, Anke

My OHs mum said at the weekend that she had heard they were considering cancelling, but that's probably gossip.  Going by our quagmyre here (we've had major digger surgery on our place) it has dried up some (amazing how quickly it does dry up once it gets warm) but then the outlook is variable.  Good luck both, will be in for a quick chat.... :fc:

It's still up on the website as going ahead.  OH is judging the Hebrideans so they should inform him if it's cancelled.  He doesn't want me to go as I'm always late............. :(

Do any of you need tickets to get in on Saturday? I have given some away to friends for the Friday, and I need to keep some in case they want them when we arrive on Friday. But, I have plenty spare for Saturday.

Let me know! You can always collect them from me on the Friday.

If you have some spare Beth they would be most welcome in our house!  I am taking my 2 kids on the Friday when we drop off the fleeces and will have to pay then plus we will be going back with my OH on the Saturday which makes us paying for 2 adults and 2 kids again, getting a bit pricey and it's not the cheapest day out, so any contributions would be most gratefully received!

Well I only got two free tickets each day, despite entering 8 goats >:( , last year I had less goats and got 3 tickets...

So next year my daughters will have to enter their own goats....

That's fine, we got 4 tickets for each day, so should have enough to give you each some. I only need one for me, as the nieces will have got their own. Might even have another one, as each of them are separate exhibitors as well. You definitely get more tickets fr more exhibitors Anke.
