Am thinking of getting some geese eggs to incubate. It wont be for a couple of months as i have my 12 silver appleyard, and 2 of my call duck eggs going into the incubator wednesday. But i wondered if anyone had any info that i could use.I will probably be converting my shed into a duck/geese house. The geese i;m thinking of getting are either DEWLAP TOULOUSE or chinese geese.I will probably only keep two girls from either batch and sell or pot the rest. The dewlap from my understanding is for show and are docile.I need something that is docile, quiet and wont fly away or fly over 6ft fence.Thats my only criteria. Also are they easy to keep???I found a rather soft spot for the dewlap tbh.I have quiet a small pond about 5ft sq but from what i;ve read they dont really need a pond an use it more for breeding? Any info would be appreicated

Kier - I have 2 Roman Geese and they are no trouble at all. However, I started off with 3  but around December 1 was attacked we thought by a fox. Now we are not so sure and think perhaps the other 2 were the culprits. I have had them for 2 years now and we do not know how old they are. When they first arrived they stayed with the ducks day and night but during the breeding season they were too boisterous and aggressive so we separated them. If they are not happy where they are they just fly - I won't clip their wings as being able to fly may just save their lives one day. Now, they wander where they like, we live beside a large river and they spend most of their days there. They terrorise the swans and ducks that live there but they are happy and come back at night and to be fed. They are great fun.
